SMEs are 99% of enterprises. Micro and small firms alone make up about 94% of all enterprises and about 45% of the national workforce.

Help SMEs adopt AI
safely, affordably, and at scale.
DAIS, the Digitalisation, AI, & cyberSecurity Action Group, is an industry-led taskforce under ASME aggregating SME demand, coordinating ecosystem partners, and shaping national policy, ground-up.
SMEs are the base of the economy, yet still the last to adopt AI.
AI adoption is lagging in SMEs, not for lack of willingness, but because of affordability, complexity, and uncertainty.
National focus today is heavy on 'AI bilingualists' (labour supply). SME AI adoption (labour demand) is still structurally weak.
Ground-up, industry-led.
DAIS is an ASME committee focused on AI, digitalisation, and cybersecurity for Singapore's SMEs.
Our core belief: Enterprise transformation must come first, so reskilled workers have AI-enabled workplaces to join.
- 1Aggregate SME demand for AI adoption.
- 2Coordinate ecosystem partners: government agencies, IHLs, tech providers, and TACs.
- 3Shape national policy together, with a ground-up, industry-led approach.

Four workstreams, one operating model.
Digital transformation first. Then job redesign. Then hiring, training, ROI.
AI Festival Asia (AIFA)
Singapore's flagship SME-AI convening.
AIFA 2026 saw 728 SMEs register, 441 attend, and over 350 express interest in AI support. Evidence that demand for AI adoption among SMEs is real and urgent. We are committing to 20 SME@AITE sessions in 2026 to keep the adoption journey going beyond the two-day festival.
AIFA 2026 reinforced our central belief: digital transformation must come first. Once AI workflows are properly implemented, SMEs can move into job redesign, hiring, and training, then measure ROI. This shifts the conversation from 'AI as a tool' to 'AI as an operating model' that creates real job demand for AI roles.
Looking ahead, a three-prong intervention will accelerate adoption among micro and small enterprises: the Lenovo AI Foundry to create highly visible learning journeys, a S$10M ring-fenced support for small and micro SMEs, and financing for grants in partnership with financial institutions to reduce cash-flow risk by treating government letters of offer as security.
AI Adoption & SME@AITE
A neutral AI sandbox and honeypot for SMEs.
SME@AITE is a neutral space where SMEs can experiment with AI tools risk-free, attend sectoral workshops, and download vetted GenAI workflows and distilled models. A joint initiative of ASME and ITE, launched April 2025 at ITE College Central.
It also serves as a one-stop access point for government grant support covering digital transformation, reskilling and job redesign, and hiring support.
Policy & Advocacy
Industry voice into national AI and SME policy.
DAIS brings ground-up insight from SMEs into national policy design, ensuring that AI adoption frameworks, grant schemes, and standards reflect what works on the ground, not just what looks good on paper.
Talent & Youth Pathways
Connecting AI-ready youth with SMEs ready to deploy.
We recruit PolITE interns to help deploy AI workflows into SMEs. Interns gain practical AI-deployment experience; SMEs can convert them into full employment as AI operators to sustain the workflows they've built.
The committee.
A working committee of industry practitioners, not just advisors.
